Admission

 For admission to each class/year of the course, an admission committee of faculties and authorities is to be constituted to facilitate the process of admission with one or two members being designated as Admission In-Charge/s. 

  • The admission of courses is to be officially announced on the college website along with the name/s of Admission In-charge/s along with their contact numbers with the link for online form filling and submission of admission/merit forms and payment of fees.
  • The admission committee will be responsible for counseling in the choice of subject selection based on the performance of the candidate in the qualifying examination. 
  • Admission to various courses run by the college would be granted on a “First come First serve” basis subject to the availability of vacant seats for the course. 
  • For admission to certain courses, where the ratio of number of applicants to the number of seats available is high, merit forms will have to be filled by the desirous candidates up to the last date. After the last date is over, the admission merit list will be declared on a scheduled date and time. 
  • The merit list will contain the list of candidate names who qualify to secure admission within a scheduled time limit and also the names of candidates who are on the waitlist. 
  • If the candidate whose name has appeared on the merit list fails to secure admission within the scheduled time frame, the seat will be allotted to other candidates on the waiting list as per the waitlist number in the second merit list. No correspondence or coercion later for the grant of admission from candidates who fail to secure admission within the stipulated time frame will be entertained. 
  • Admission to courses affiliated with the University of  Mumbai  will be granted only if the candidate desirous of seeking admission satisfies the eligibility criteria prescribed by the university. 
  • The reservation policy of the state government and the norms of the affiliating University of Mumbai  will be applicable to all seats.
  • For students with disabilities (Divyangjan), 3% of the seats will be reserved. 
  • Admission granted to the candidates by the college would be purely provisional. It will be confirmed after the due process of eligibility is completed by the candidate with the assistance of the college eligibility section and the affiliating university verifying and granting eligibility approval to each candidate for each course. 
  • The rules for cancellation of admission/refund of fees would be as per the rules prescribed by the affiliating university.
  • Admission to any course would be granted by the college only after payment of prescribed course fees. 
  • However if the candidate is unable to pay full fees, he/she will have to apply for the installment facility with the assistance of the admission committee which will recommend the installment amounts with their due dates to the Principal/Vice-Principal who will finally approve the installment request. 
  • The original fee receipts /transaction details of the admission fee paid will have to be preserved by the candidate till he or she fully passes out the concerned course. 
  • Admission to students who are children/wards of the college staff would be granted concession in fees as per the staff welfare measures currently in force

Disabled Friendliness

 The college is committed to facilitating students, staff, and visitors with Disabilities as per the guidelines of the Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities (Divyangjan) under the Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment. The college has provided the following facilities to make them accessible to Divyangjan. 

  • Accessible Parking – Reserved near the entrance with a marked and prominent space with a safe connecting access route to the main building.
  • Accessible approach route – Right from the main outer gate to the entrance of the building, the accessible route with a tactile path is provided with instructional and directional signage features. 
  • Accessible reception area with an accessible counter manned by a trained receptionist for wheelchair-bound persons as well as an arrangement to provide information to those with visual or hearing impairment.
  • Accessible entrance to the building – ramp with sufficient width and gradual gradient.
  • Accessible Staircases having tactile tiles at the beginning and end for alerting persons with visual impairment and of appropriate height and thickness for comfortable climbing with durable handrails. 
  • Accessible toilets – with customized wash-basins and commodes and retro-fittings such as Grab bars, Long/lever handles of taps, and door handles to facilitate convenient toilet use. 
  • Accessible corridors and tactile flooring wide enough for wheelchair users to pass easily, are well-lit, and anti-skid flooring and appropriate signage are displayed. 
  • Facility of a writer with additional time for those unable to write at a normal pace.

Admission Committee Objective

The Admissions Committee is responsible for the UG and PG student admissions in the program. Frequency of Committee Meetings: Once in an academic year IQAC reporting member: Responsibilities and Functions: The admissions committee endeavors to identify applicants from various junior colleges.

  • In consultation with the vice principal and principal prepare attractive brochures, prospectus, and handouts for wider publicity.
  • To place advertisements mentioning newspapers regarding admissions as and when permitted by the respective conveners of admissions.
  • To assist the students and interact with the parents during admissions.
  • To guide the students and parents in making effective decisions.
  • To track the success of the admissions, process each day during admissions by maintaining a database of pertinent information on the applicants.
  • To guide admitted students to complete the admission procedure like paying fees, getting roll nos., getting an I-card, fulfilling eligibility criteria, getting timetables, etc.
  • To advise the Principal on improving facilities from the feedback from parents and students during admission counseling.
  • To file and maintain the records of the admissions and submit the enrolment records to the IQAC Committee.
  • To submit the list of admissions made by the college to the concerned competent authorities.
